Ludwig Binge obtained his master’s degree in drama from the University of Stellenbosch and won best actor and best student awards while studying. He was the 2010 winner of the best actor award for the title role Hamlet in “Nog ‘n Hamlet” directed by Christiaan Olwagen. In 2012 he was nominated for a Fleur de Cap award as the most promising student. In 2014 he was part of the cast that won the Naledi award as well as Kanna award for best ensemble awarded to “Balbesit”.
In 2012 He also starred in “Kind Hamlet” opposite Binge. He also produced the Ibsen classic “A Doll’s House”. In this production Birrie le Roux did the designing and Charl-Johan Lingenfelder wrote the music and Christiaan Olwagen directed – the same award winning team assembled for JOHNNY IS NIE DOOD NIE. Roelof’s film credits are “Four Corners” 2013) and “Twee Grade van Moord” (2015). He is currently concentrating on film production.
